JOINT LEGISLATIVE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The New Jersey Legislature is pleased to join the Women’s Rights Information Center in recognizing Lee Seham Esq., highly esteemed in the Garden State, who will receive the Phoebe Seham Award during the Annual Spring Dinner, Celebrating Community Change Makers, on June 9, 2021; and,
WHEREAS, This prestigious accolade, named in honor of his mother, the founder of the Women’s Rights Information Center, bears witness to Lee Seham’s tireless efforts on behalf of others, especially the numerous seminars he conducts to address the prevention of sexual harassment in male-dominated fields and his frequent representation of airline industry whistleblowers; and,
WHEREAS, Lee Seham has served with distinction as the lead partner of Seham, Seham, Meltz & Petersen LLP, a labor and employment law firm located in White Plains, New York, and the wisdom and expertise he lends as President of American Maritime Safety Inc. and as General Counsel for the National Basketball Referees Association have greatly informed his sterling reputation; and,
WHEREAS, A distinguished magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the New York University School of Law, where he shared his considerable insight with the NYU Law Review, Lee Seham has given generously of his time and energy over the years in a myriad of ways, including as an Auxiliary Police Officer in New York City and as a mentor with the Big Brother Big Sister program; and,
WHEREAS, Within all the spheres of his life and work, Lee Seham has established a model to emulate and set a standard of excellence toward which others might strive; and,
WHEREAS, It is altogether proper and fitting for this Legislature to pause in its deliberations to acknowledge Lee Seham as an individual of strong character and exceptional determination; now, therefore,
Be It Resolved by the Senate and General Assembly of the State of New Jersey:
That this Legislature hereby salutes Lee Seham, pays tribute to his meritorious record of service and commitment, and extends sincere best wishes for his continued success and happiness; and,
Be It Further Resolved, That a duly authenticated copy of this resolution, signed by the Senate President and the Assembly Speaker and attested by the Senate Secretary and the Assembly Clerk, be transmitted to Lee Seham Esq.
